The Columbia Choralewas founded in Richland, Washington, in 1963 under the direction of Mr. Gerald Goeke. Since then, the Chorale has had many different directors and members. Throughout the years, the main mission of the Chorale has been to provide a place for people to get together and sing in a friendly and educational atmosphere. The Chorale runs during the school year (August through May) and typically performs two concerts a year, occasionally participating in other local community events as well.
The Chorale is currently based in Kennewick, Washington, under the direction of Mr. Steve Halliday. Members come from all over the Tri-Cities and the greater Mid-Columbia region and possess various levels of experience, training, age, faith, and backgrounds. The Chorale performs music of all varieties and styles including classical, pop, jazz, folk, spirituals, show tunes, world, and much more. As part of its mission, the Chorale also provides vocal trainingand promotes healthy singing practices for its members.
